Clinical Investigator Award (K08) is sponsored by National Eye Institute (NEI). This award provides support for a period of mentored career development for clinically trained professionals who have the potential to develop into independent investigators in vision research.

Clinical Investigator Award (CIA) (K08) | Grants & Funding U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Clinical Investigator Award (CIA) (K08) To provide the opportunity for promising medical scientists with demonstrated aptitude to develop into independent investigators, or for faculty members to pursue research aspects of categorical areas applicable to the awarding unit, and aid in filling the academic faculty gap in these shortage areas within health profession's institutions of the country.

This program provides support and protected time for an intensive, supervised research career development experience in the fields of biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research, including translational research.
