The **Close to Home Disaster and Emergency Fund**provides grants to human service organizations serving Washington County, Pennsylvania, in response to local disasters and emergencies. The segment of our community that is most impacted during disasters and emergencies are the financially distressed, who already rely on the services of human services organizations.
During disasters and emergencies, human services organizations are called upon to provide additional services, taxing their limited financial resources. The purpose of the WCCF’s **Close to Home Disaster and Emergency Fund** is to provide grants to human service organizations in Washington County in a coordinated and strategic manner to help alleviate suffering caused by disaster or emergency.
Grants are made to human service organizations and other nonprofits to address immediate needs, short-term needs and long-term needs. The Foundation waives its normal management fee for the **Close to Home Disaster and Emergency Fund**.
