Closing Cost Assistance For Veterans | Military Housing Assistance Fund | VA Grants Closing Cost Assistance For Military and Veteran Families Military Housing Assistance Fund (MHAF) helps with our closing cost gifts for military members and veterans. MHAF assists active military and veteran families by providing them with closing cost gift funds to assist them with purchasing a home. 69% of all Americans own their own home.
Unfortunately, our men and women in uniform are being left behind. In a Rand Corporation study, it was found that only 27. 3% of military families own their own home.
In this same study, when asked why, nearly half said that it was because they could not afford to do so. That’s why our closing cost assistance program is designed to help cover the closing costs for our nation’s heroes when they purchase a home. Ask about our special allowance for gift funds to contribute toward refinance closing costs!
Please note: Our services are not available in AK, OH, or NY at this time. Please note: for home buyers only, we do not offer rental assistance. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.
How Can We Help? Apply for Closing Cost Funds Press Inquiries Services Other Volunteer Military Housing Assistance Fund was created in 2004 with a mission to help our nation’s military heroes with their home purchases. Since our founding, we have helped thousands of families get into their dream home, and in the process we have given out hundreds of thousands of dollars in gift funds to help cover closing costs.
Over the last 19 years we have recruited, interviewed and trained a national network of passionate, dedicated real estate agents and mortgage lenders who appreciate the sacrifices military heros and their families make for this great nation. By having this network in place, we are able to specialize in the home purchase process for military members.
Our entire team is assembled with the goal of providing you with gift funds to cover your closing costs. Is MHAF some sort of scam? Absolutely not.
There are some misinformed, skeptical voices online who have asked if our program is a scam. We want to address their questions head on. Our program has helped thousands of families get into homes, and you can read testimonials directly from our happy clients here.
We have developed a network of licensed, highly-experienced real estate agents and lenders who are a part of this program because they want to give back to our nation’s heroes. We have assembled a network of agents and lenders who are experts in negotiating for concessions on behalf of military members.
They are strong, experienced and passionate about fighting for every dollar our nation’s heroes deserve during their home buying process. This highly-experienced, and highly-specialized network allows us to connect you with a team who will do everything they can to secure closing cost assistance funds for you during your home purchase. To get started, you must submit an application here.
Then, you will have an orientation conversation with an MHAF agent, who will explain the full and complete details of the MHAF program. Once that conversation has been completed, they will move your application to the next step and assign your lending team to get the pre-approval process completed.
Once the pre-approval letter has been issued, you will be assigned a real estate agent in the area in which you are wanting to make your home purchase. Your agent will negotiate the best price for your home and for concessions to be used toward your actual closing costs from the seller. The gift funds from MHAF will be given as a contribution toward the remainder of your actual closing costs.
The mission is to get your actual closing costs down to a smaller, more manageable amount left for you to pay or down to $0 if possible. Keep in mind, our program is designed to return gift funds to you, in the form of a reimbursement check after a home purchase. Historically, when the funds have been given before the closing, if for any reason the transaction does not close, the funds have never been returned.
Like any other real estate purchase, you will be responsible for down payments, pre-paids, inspection fees, and earnest money. What money do I have to pay? The program costs you nothing to utilize.
The grant funds are free, never have to be repaid, and the services are completely free. Once again, you will be responsible for down payments, pre-paids, inspection fees, and earnest money just as you would with any standard real estate purchase.
Our approved lenders will be very open and transparent with you about the costs associated with your home purchase, and any out-of-pocket fees you will have to cover during the home-buying process. Can you guarantee that I will get a certain amount of money? We are unable to give you an exact number for your free gift funds because every real estate transaction is different.
However, our entire organization is designed to keep your out-of-pocket costs to a minimum and your financial benefit to a maximum during your home buying process. We have a very high success rate of our clients not having to contribute any of their own funds toward their actual closing costs, but we cannot promise this with every purchase. In many cases, you can end up with surplus funds from MHAF with which you can do as you please.
What if I have bad credit? While we can work with those who have credit issues, at the end of the day, it is important that you have the necessary credit capability that will allow you to qualify for a mortgage. Feel free to contact us, and you can speak with one of our no-pressure mortgage brokers about your situation.
What if I already have an agent or a lender? Our program works because the agents and lenders in our network have been trained to give extra assistance to our nation’s military heroes. Your entire team is focused toward an end goal of lowering your out of pocket expenditure as we help you navigate the home buying process.
As such, we cannot offer the same assistance and results if your real estate agent or lender are outside of our network and are not trained or approved to work with the program. What is your affiliation with the military? We are not officially associated with any part of the US military or with any government benefit programs.
We were privately founded by a military veteran/businessman who wanted to give back to the military community. However, we have been invited by the Secretary Of Defense to be members of ‘America Supports You’ program, which is a network of organizations that support military families. Our services are available to members of the military, guard, reserve, civilian employees of the military and Veterans.
MHAF is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, formed in 2006 for exclusively charitable and educational purposes. Military Housing Assistance Fund (MHAF) is working to promote and assist home ownership in an effort to create strong, vibrant communities for our military families by inspiring lifestyle choices that encourage health and promote healthy neighborhoods and schools. We appreciate your interest in MHAF!
You can help us reach more of our military families by passing on the word about our program to a friend. This program is very beneficial to our military families and with your help, we can reach out to more of our soldiers who could take advantage of this assistance.

GeoPEX is AFRL's standing open broad agency announcement for geospatial intelligence processing and exploitation, and it is one of the more practical routes into Air Force AI funding for teams working on imagery and sensor analytics. The announcement covers research, development, integration, test and evaluation of technologies providing geospatial intelligence in all its forms and from any source - imagery, imagery intelligence, or geospatial data and information. The AI-relevant content sits in its emphasis on full-spectrum GEOINT, AI and machine learning techniques for imagery exploitation, multi-source data integration and sensor fusion, autonomous geospatial reasoning, intelligent processing pipelines, cloud-based high-performance computing and photogrammetry. The mechanics are what distinguish it from a conventional solicitation. It is an open, two-step BAA effective until 30 September 2026: initial submissions are white papers only, and full proposals are accepted by invitation. That structure is a significant advantage for smaller teams, because the cost of entry is a white paper rather than a full proposal package, and AFRL uses the white paper stage to steer effort toward technically relevant work before anyone invests in a formal proposal. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis rather than against a single closing date, so timing against AFRL fiscal-year funding cycles matters more than any published deadline. Individual awards normally run 250,000 to 10,000,000 dollars over up to 24 months, against approximately 99.9 million dollars of total BAA funding. The full announcement and submission instructions are posted on SAM.gov.
Round 2 of the Farming Futures Automation and Robotics competition is the UK's largest dedicated agri-robotics funding call, offering up to 20,000,000 pounds for collaborative R&D on robotic and intelligent automated systems for farming, horticulture and forestry in England. It sits within Defra's Farming Innovation Programme and is delivered by Innovate UK. The scope is broader than previous rounds: alongside core arable and horticultural crops it now covers farmed animals, fruit, orchards, vineyards, protected cropping, ornamental plant propagation and monitoring, and forestry operations. Eligible technologies span robotic and intelligent automated machines, imaging and sensing systems for data collection, post-harvest automation carried out on farm, intelligent food storage systems, and on-farm energy management - a list that puts perception, machine learning and autonomous decision-making at the centre of what the fund will support, even though the competition title leads with robotics rather than AI. The named target problems are productivity, reliance on labour, resource use efficiency, food quality and traceability, waste, crop and animal health, animal welfare and sustainability. Two points determine whether a strong technical idea is fundable here. First, this is explicitly a collaborative competition: a minimum of two organisations must apply for funding, the lead must be a UK-registered business of any size, and no single organisation may take more than 70 per cent of eligible costs. Second, the exclusions are specific and catch applicants out - equine, wild fisheries, aquaculture, medicinal crops, food processing and forestry harvesting equipment are all out of scope. The competition opened 3 August 2026 and closes 30 September 2026 at 11:00am UK time, with projects running 12 to 36 months, starting by 1 March 2027 and ending by 28 February 2030.
On September 16, 2026, the First Circuit granted HUD an emergency stay of the order that had erased the FY2026 Continuum of Care competition. HUD reopened e-snaps on September 18 with a September 30, 8:00 PM ET deadline, one technical correction shortening applicant notification from 15 days to 7, and a waiver letting private nonprofits administer rental assistance. Here is what the stay does and does not decide, why your award may still be provisional, and the exact sequence to run in the days you have left.
Read articleArkansas's FY2027 Community Assistance Grant Program opened July 1 with $10 million total, awards up to $1.5 million, and an August 15 deadline. It funds food insecurity, housing, education, crime-victim, and emergency-services work — but the 20% match and the state-priority framing decide who wins. Here is how to compete.
Read articleFive weeks after a federal judge vacated the FY2026 Continuum of Care NOFO in its entirety, HUD published a Notice of Research Justifying Additional Incentives for Certain Activities To Reduce Homelessness. It is not a NOFO and not a proposed rule — it is the administrative record HUD needs to reissue the same policy and survive the next lawsuit. Here is what the four named activities tell you about the revised competition, why the October 13 comment deadline is now the real leverage point, and what CoC leads should be building right now.
