Closing Cost Assistance Grant Information Learn more about Mortgage Relief Resources Closing Cost Assistance Grant The Virginia Housing Closing Cost Assistance Grant helps cover the extra costs that come with buying a home and is available for both RD and VA transactions. This grant requires no repayment and can be used with other non-Virginia Housing grants as well.
This grant reduces the out-of-pocket expenses that occur during the homebuying process. It can be paired with other non-Virginia Housing grants, making buying a first home even more accessible.
To receive a Closing Cost Assistance Grant, a homebuyer must: Be a qualified first-time homebuyer or repeat buyer purchasing in Areas of Economic Opportunity Have a bond Rural Housing Service (RHS) or Veterans Affairs (VA) loan from Virginia Housing Have a household income within Virginia Housing’s income limits Be within Virginia Housing’s sales price / loan limits Income and Sales Price / Loan Limits This grant may be worth up to 2% of your home’s purchase price.
Funds may be applied to closing costs, Rural Housing Service (RHS) guarantees or Veterans Affairs (VA) funding fees. And, you never have to pay it back. Having this grant may improve your RHS or VA loan offers.
