Coastal Protection and Restoration AuthorityCIAP | Coastal Protection And Restoration Authority Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority | State of Louisiana, Governor Bobby Jindal NOTICE: Bourbon Street Attack Victim Resources CIAP: Coastal Impact Assistance Program CIAP is a one billion dollar federal funding program to help oil and gas producing states and their coastal subdivisions mitigate impacts from production on the Outer Continental Shelf (federal areas outside of state jurisdictions).
CIAP will provide approximately $496 million to Louisiana and its 19 coastal parishes. Those parishes will receive 35 percent of the funds and the state will receive 65 percent. Projects funded with this money include marsh rebuilding projects, preservation and restoration of barrier islands, onshore infrastructure, planning, and mitigating damage to fish, wildlife and other natural resources.

Coastal Community Grant Program is sponsored by Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (Municipal Planning Assistance Program). This competitive grant program provides funds to counties, municipalities, unorganized territories, tribal governments, and Regional Planning Organizations in Maine's coastal zone for projects that build community resilience to adapt to a changing climate. Projects can include green infrastructure; preparing communities for coastal storms and storm surge, shoreline erosion, sea level rise, and flooding; and planning for reducing water quality impacts from land use activities. The program aims to improve water quality, increase adaptation to erosion and flooding, restore coastal habitat, promote sustainable development, and enhance the coastal-dependent economy while preserving coastal natural resources within Maine's coastal zone.
Resilient Florida Grant Program - Implementation Grants is sponsored by Florida Department of Environmental Protection. This grant is available to counties, municipalities, and certain special districts for infrastructure projects that address risks identified in a local government vulnerability assessment. Funding is also available for water management districts, drainage districts, erosion control districts, flood control districts, and regional water supply authorities to mitigate the risks of flooding and storm surge to water supplies or water resources. The program aims to enhance the resilience of Florida's coastal regions and vulnerable communities against the impacts caused by sea-level rise, storm surges, and extreme weather events.
