Apply Now – Spokane Public Schools Foundation Each year, SPSF makes dozens of grants to educators in the Spokane School District ranging from $200 up to $2,500. Grant applications for the 2026-2027 school year opened on November 1st and will close on April 1, 2026. After the close of submissions, the Foundation Grants Committee will make the selection of the successful proposals and will inform all applicants of their status.
The criteria used in the selection process include: Creative and innovative activity or program Goals and measurable outcomes Number of students impacted by grant Student need based on free and reduced lunch population Completion of previous grant evaluation (if applicable) Potential direct impact to students is prioritized over potential indirect student impact (ex.
Materials for a project-based learning activity may be prioritized over instructor training for a new program) At the conclusion of the grant the educator or administrator must provide SPSF with a written report on the project, including outcomes against goals. Throughout the grant pictures and short video updates allow the Foundation to communicate with our stakeholders about your project and how it’s impacting students.
Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, SPSF added two additional grant types. The Maureen Ramos Grant for Educational Innovation (up to $5,000) and the College Spark Grant for Education Access. The Maureen Ramos Grant for Educational Innovation is awarded for grants creating innovative new programs or solutions for classrooms.
The College Spark Grant is awarded for grants that support the educational dreams of students of color and low-income backgrounds. You may be considered for either (or both) of these grant types by checking the appropriate box below the dollar requested amount. Recurring Educator contributions Automatic monthly contributions are available to staff of Spokane Public Schools as a payroll deduction.
