Gorge STEM Microgrants for Educators Columbia Gorge STEM Hub Microgrants For the 2025–2026 school year, our Microgrants are made possible through the generous support of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality . This year, we're supporting field trips that foster student curiosity and deepen their understanding of the wide range of career pathways available to them.
Educators may apply for a Partner-Led Field Trip experience or create their own, Educator-Led experience . Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis and will continue until funding is expended; applications are reviewed and awarded within 2 weeks. PreK-12th grade educators in Gilliam, Hood River, Sherman, Wasco and Wheeler counties are eligible.
The target range for each grant is $400-$1000, but proposals slightly over that cap will still be considered, especially for those applications that impact multiple students or classrooms. If you have any questions, please email Julie Cucuel - jcucuel@cgesd. k12.
or. us Educator Led Experience : Complete your application here! For educator-led trips, classroom teachers plan and lead the entire experience — including logistics, activities, and learning goals.
Trips should be designed to support career exploration and align with the objectives outlined in the grant application. To avoid delays or revisions, a clear and detailed description of your planned trip is required during the application process. Funding can cover transportation, registration or ticket fees, educational materials, and substitute coverage, if needed.
Partner Led Experience: Complete your application here! For Partner-Led trips, the experience is fully organized by educators or professionals from partner organizations. These opportunities may include industry site visits, regional events, career-connected activities, or hands-on learning with experts.
All logistics and programming are already taken care of — educators only need to apply for funding to cover transportation or substitute costs, if needed. See the application for full details regarding Partner Led Experiences.
