The DDA offers the Commercial Build-Out Improvement Grant, Marketing and Digital Connectivity Grant, and the Commercial Facade Improvement Grant for small businesses in the city. Applications will be accepted through Jan. 23.
In November, the DDA awarded 27 grants totaling $113,316 to 19 businesses, according to a news release. The Commercial Build-Out Improvement Grant (CBIG) helps businesses and property owners improve the interior of their buildings. Businesses are reimbursed through a grant after completing the qualifying project.
The commercial facade improvement grant (CFIG) supports projects that maintain and beautify storefronts. The Marketing and Digital Connectivity Grant (MDCG) seeks to enhance businesses’ digital marketing presence by supporting the design and production of digital content and marketing materials.
All grants cover up to 75 percent of the cost of any approved project, with the business owner responsible for a minimum of 25 percent of the total cost. The CFIG and CBIG allow for minimum contributions from the DDA of $2,500 and a maximum of $10,000, while the MDCG has a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $2,500 for approved projects. After the application window closes, the DDA oversight committee will review all submissions.
