Economic and Community Development Neighborhood Revitalization and Grants Program Business Façade Improvement Program Business Façade Improvement Program The Business Facade Program is currently CLOSED This program offers grants to eligible commercial businesses and property owners who complete qualified façade rehabilitation projects.
An eligible "façade" is the front face or elevation of the building, which typically faces the street and contains windows and the principal entrance to the building. This program offers a repayment matching grant of up to $25,000 of the approved project costs, with a minimum project cost of $5,000.
The City of Decatur encourages improving the appearance of building façades to have a significant impact on the attractiveness and marketability of the surrounding area. By bettering the appearance of building façades, the program services to improve the economic vitality of these areas.
Better aesthetics increase property values, improve the marketability of space within the buildings and draws business and residents to the area. Eligible work includes: façade renovation, repair or installation of storefront windows, awnings, doors, signs, exterior lighting, parking lots and landscaping.
