The Community Advancement Grant Program supports organizations and community groups that help expand access to opportunity and promote progress for people who have less access to programs or services. The program will provide financial assistance to organizations seeking to develop and implement programs, training or community-related projects that strengthen our communities. The maximum grant amount is $5,000.
To qualify for a grant, the organization, project or event must: Be located within a New Jersey American Water's service area Be a new, innovative community initiative or serve as significant expansion to an existing program Promote progress for people who have less access to programs or services in the community the organization serves.
Applicant must be classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity or K-12 public school, college or university. Individuals and and religious organizations are not eligible to receive grants. Only nonprofit organizations within New Jersey American Water’s service territory are eligible to receive funding.
DEADLINE TO APPLY: OCTOBER 24, 2025 All grants will be funded either by the American Water Charitable Foundation upon the advice or recommendation of personnel from American Water and its state subsidiaries or directly by such American Water subsidiary.
