Community Assistance Grants

Community Assistance Grants is sponsored by Louisiana Community Forests (Baton Rouge Green). These grants provide support for urban and community forestry projects. LCF directly pays contracting vendors for services or products that benefit or enhance a community's capacity to manage its urban forest.

LCF was cre­at­ed to cul­ti­vate and pro­mote stew­ard­ship of com­mu­ni­ty forests and green infra­struc­ture through­out Louisiana.

Through this pro­gram, Baton Rouge Green coop­er­ates direct­ly with the U.S. For­est Ser­vice and Louisiana Depart­ment of Agri­cul­ture and Forestry to com­mu­ni­cate the ben­e­fits of com­mu­ni­ty forests, as well as pro­vide tech­ni­cal and finan­cial assis­tance for local part­ners in their stew­ard­ship efforts.

Louisiana Com­mu­ni­ty Forests ( LCF ) pro­vides two forms of assis­tance to com­mu­ni­ties across the state: LCF staff can pro­vide expert sup­port to assist with urban forestry man­age­ment capac­i­ty, trou­bleshoot­ing issues with for­est man­age­ment, or guid­ing you through to mak­ing the first steps of your urban forestry pro­gram. LCF pro­vides Com­mu­ni­ty Assis­tance Grants for urban and com­mu­ni­ty forestry sup­port via Coop­er­a­tive Agree­ments for Assis­tance ( CAA ). LCF direct­ly pays the con­tract­ing ven­dor for the ser­vices or prod­ucts they pro­vide a com­mu­ni­ty that will ben­e­fit or enhance that community’s capac­i­ty to man­age their urban for­est. These CAAs require 1 ‑to‑ 1 match funds or in-kind ser­vices from the community.

Community Forestry Academy The Com­mu­ni­ty Forestry Acad­e­my pro­vides unique online train­ing and refresh­er cours­es for munic­i­pal staff, com­mu­ni­ty lead­ers and state forestry agency per­son­nel prepar­ing for storm events. org/ Urban forestry man­age­ment plans are goals based on col­lect­ed data that address canopy needs/​concerns, and are also required to qual­i­fy for LCF subgrants. Green Stormwater Infrastructure “ This col­lec­tion con­tains cur­rent infor­ma­tion regard­ing trees (urban forests and street trees) and stormwa­ter runoff mit­i­ga­tion at the site or neigh­bor­hood scale.

” Southern Group of State Foresters “ We pro­vide lead­er­ship in sus­tain­ing the eco­nom­ic, envi­ron­men­tal and social ben­e­fits of the South’s forests, and work to iden­ti­fy and address exist­ing and emerg­ing issues and chal­lenges that are impor­tant to south­ern forests and citizens. ” Urban Forestry Toolkit by USFS The U.S. For­est Ser­vice Step-by-Step Guide to Imple­ment­ing Urban Forestry in Your Community.

“ Urban Forestry South ( UFS ) deliv­ers qual­i­ty urban nat­ur­al resource sci­ence, tech­nol­o­gy, and infor­ma­tion to improve the long term sus­tain­abil­i­ty of urban ecosystems.

The let­ter must con­tain the com­plainan­t’s name, address, tele­phone num­ber, and a writ­ten descrip­tion of the alleged dis­crim­i­na­to­ry action in suf­fi­cient detail to inform the Assis­tant Sec­re­tary for Civ­il Rights ( ASCR ) about the nature and date of an alleged civ­il rights vio­la­tion.
