The Junior League of Tampa supports nonprofit agencies serving Hillsborough County through both its Community Grant program and its Volunteers at Large program. Organizations that receive a Community Grant may also be considered for Volunteers at Large support. Community Grants may not be awarded to the same organization in consecutive years.
(Formerly “Community Grants” and “Volunteers at Large” — now combined into one unified application) The Junior League of Tampa now offers one streamlined Community Assistance application for nonprofit organizations seeking financial support, volunteer support, or both.
This new structure combines the former Community Grants and Volunteers at Large application to create a simpler, more efficient experience for agencies serving Hillsborough County.
Eligible nonprofits may request: Grant funding up to $3,000 Volunteer support for a single initiative projects Both funding and volunteers for short-term projects (“Done in a Day”–style events) The Junior League of Tampa focuses on education and child welfare but may support projects that meet urgent community needs outside these areas.
The Junior League of Tampa’s Community Assistance funds cannot be used for: Travel and Transportation Expenses, including: Gas Cards, Bus Tickets, Airline Tickets, Car Rental, Taxi Fare, Charter Bus Expense or Hotel Expenses.
Salaries of regular part-time or full-time employees Fundraising Campaigns or Materials A person’s personal project (e.g. Boy Scout project) Government functions / programs Hold 501(c)(3) nonprofit status Have operated in Hillsborough County for at least two years Use all awarded funds within Hillsborough County Not have received a Community Grant from The Junior League of Tampa in the previous fiscal year For questions about Community Grants please email: communitygrants@jltampa.

Application Open: January 15 th – March 31 st April–May: Application review, site visits, and selection May–June: Notification of selection or declination Utilization of Awarded Support Projects requesting funding and volunteers (“Done in a Day”) must use funds and the project be completed within five months of selection. Projects receiving only financial assistance must use awarded funds within one year of the award date.
