Community Building Mini Grant (CBMG) is sponsored by Anne Arundel County Office of Multicultural Affairs. Mini grants to support community-based cultural festivals, events, parades, artistic projects, and other celebrations that foster community belonging and local identity in Anne Arundel County.

OMA Initiatives | Anne Arundel County Government Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) Anne Arundel County announced our participation in a national cohort of communities dedicated to achieving the Certified Welcoming designation with Welcoming America. Certified Welcoming is a formal designation for local governments that have created policies and programs reflecting their values and commitments to immigrant inclusion.

This assessment allows jurisdictions to improve and fortify local efforts to build community cohesion. Through the county’s pursuit of a certified welcoming designation, Anne Arundel County recommits itself to our shared goals of safe neighborhoods, strong economies, and thriving families. These are all ideals we all strive for, regardless of background.

Community Building Mini Grant Supporting Cultural Festivals and Events Anne Arundel County recognizes the importance of festivals, parades, and other celebrations that help foster a sense of belonging, local identity, quality of life, and learning opportunities for both residents and visitors.

Community-based festivals and events reflect the vibrant cultural tapestry of Anne Arundel County, while also providing opportunities to create economic, social, health and community benefits. This grant fund may support festivals, cultural events, parades, and other celebrations in the circumstances where economic and social benefits are provided for the community and the eligibility criteria in this policy are met.

Access the Application Form Multicultural Business Roundtable In partnership with county agencies and community organizations, we host bi-monthly multicultural business roundtable meetings to bring government services and opportunities to our small-business owners in the county.

Unity Collective: Building Cultural Bridges The purpose of the unity collective is to connect community members across neighborhoods and cultures to facilitate community-building through the experience of sharing stories with others.

The virtual story circle serves to reveal historical memories and collective experiences as well as to bring together diverse communities that may have migration stories rooted in a myriad of people’s movement across time and space.

Family Protection Initiative The Family Protection Initiative (FPI) is a public-private partnership aimed at bridging the gap between our shared vision of due process for everyone and the harsh realities many local families face as they deal with the threat of family separation alone. FPI builds on a universal model that takes a comprehensive approach.
