Community Cancer Funds - Columbia County Community Healthcare Consortium, Inc. Our mission is to improve access to healthcare and support the health and well-being of the people in our rural community.
Community Cancer Funds Claire 2026-06-01T13:58:38-04:00 Our Community Cancer Funds help to relieve the financial burden associated with a cancer diagnosis through annual grants to Columbia and Greene County residents that can help them pay for both healthcare and household expenses. We all know that cancer affects a person’s physical, mental and emotional health.
Unfortunately, for many, cancer can also ruin their financial health, by both limiting their ability to work and earn and by increasing their expenses. Columbia and Greene County residents who are experiencing a financial hardship related to a cancer diagnosis may benefit from our Community Cancer Funds.
A grant from the Funds can be used to pay for both health-related expenses, like health insurance premiums, co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles, and for household expenses, like rent, utility payments, and transportation. Additionally, our staff can help identify other resources that may be available to you. For more information about this program….

To apply for assistance from the Community Cancer Funds, please complete a brief application: A note on donations made to the Funds: The Community Cancer Funds are entirely supported by donations from the community, including and especially the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and its “No Shave November” Initiative, The Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation, and community members just like you!
It’s important to know that a dollar that is donated from Greene County is committed to a Greene County resident with cancer, and a dollar that is donated in Columbia County is committed to a Columbia County resident with cancer. Moreover, 100% of every dollar donated to the Community Cancer Funds is regifted to a resident with cancer; the Consortium does not use those donations, in whole or in part, for any other purpose.
