Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is sponsored by City of San Antonio. This program provides federal funding to help communities develop and preserve affordable housing through construction, rehabilitation, homeownership opportunities, and rental assistance for low-income residents.

Bexar County has broad discretion regarding how CDBG funds are utilized, however all activities must (1) benefit low- or moderate-income households, (2) prevent or eliminate slum or blight, or (3) meet a need having a particular urgency.
