Other Departments & Agencies Community and Economic Development Community Development Block Grant Community Development Block Grant Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Allocation funds are awarded to Clark County to benefit community projects that address a variety of issues in low-moderate income (LMI) or blighted areas.

Funds are distributed to Clark County from the Ohio Department of Development via various CDBG designated programs including the CDBG Allocation Program, as well as competitive set- aside funding for Neighborhood Revitalization, Flexible Grants, Community Housing Improvement & Preservation and Critical Infrastructure.

These programs can fund a broad range of activities, including economic development projects; street, water supply, drainage and sanitary sewer improvements; park acquisition and improvements; demolition of unsafe structures; rehabilitation of housing; planning activities, public services and neighborhood facilities.

CDBG activities must be designed to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income persons or aid in the prevention or elimination of slums and blight. All CDBG projects funded by the Clark County Commissioners must be physically located within Clark County and outside the city limits of Springfield or provide public services to residents of Clark County.

CDBG Critical Infrastructure (Competitive Application) PY2018: $401,900 Street & Drainage Improvements Galewood Drive PY2020: $367,100 Street & Drainage Improvements Fenwick Drive Phase I PY2022: $437,500 Street & Drainage Improvements Fenwick Drive Phase II PY2024: $500,000 Potential Funding. CDBG Community Housing Impact & Preservation Program (Competitive Application) PY2021: $437,100 Private Homeowner Rehabilitation; Private Homeowner Repair; New Affordable Home Construction with Habitat for Humanity PY2024: $500,000 Potential Funding. Activities to be Determined.
