Residents and non-profit entities working in the unincorporated area of the county may propose projects for CDBG funding that benefit low- and moderate-income persons and align with the County's Consolidated Plan. ca. gov**_ ### The Application Process * The County releases a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) in the Fall outlining available CDBG funds, eligibility requirement, and funding priorities aligned with U. S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Guidelines.
* Eligible applicants submit project proposals by the stated deadline. * Applications are reviewed and scored based on HUD eligibility, financial feasibility, community impact, and County alignment. * Recommended projects are included in the upcoming fiscal Year Annual Plan.
* The following Spring, the Annual Plan is made available for public review and comment, during the 30-day comment period. It is then presented to the County Board of Supervisors for their consideration and approval. * Once approved, agreements are executed and funded projects may begin implementation.
