Each year, the City of Newark awards grants to local nonprofits, community groups, and agencies doing work that improves life for Newark residents — from housing and neighborhood improvements to social services and community programs. You submit one application; we help navigate the funding sources and timelines. Take the next steps to get smart on the programs and prepare your application.
Step 1: Learn more about the Community Development Block Grant, or CDBG , to determine whether your program qualifies. Step 2: Understand the City's Revenue Sharing Program . Step 3: Prepare your application The Community Development/ Revenue Sharing Advisory Committee begins accepting applications in Summer for consideration for the next fiscal year.
