Community Development Block Grant | Fort Bend County The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is authorized under Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to improve the quality of life for low- and moderate-income areas. The program provides an annual grant to the County on a formula basis to carry out a wide range of community development activities.
The Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program has the primary objective of developing viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low-and moderate-income persons. The program is directed toward neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and the provision of improved community facilities and services.
