Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) Insular Areas Program is sponsored by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD annually allocates CDBG funds to four designated insular areas to support community development activities. These can include acquisition of real property, rehabilitation of structures, construction of public facilities, and public services.
Activities must meet one of three national objectives: benefit low- and moderate-income persons, aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight, or address urgent community development needs.
