Programs and Initiatives | Health and Human Services North Dakota Home Meet the Team Multi-Partner Health Collaborative Programs and Initiatives We work to understand and reduce health disparities among all North Dakotans. The primary goal is to reduce rates of disease by providing opportunities for upstream interventions and improving access.
This will ensure all North Dakotans have the opportunity to achieve the highest quality of life. Gateway To Health Initiative The Gateway to Health Initiative evolved from the Gateway to Health event held annually in Bismarck. The event was created to connect members of the Bismarck-Mandan Communities with resources available to them in a fun and positive environment to promote community connections after the pandemic.
The Gateway to Health Initiative is dedicated to connecting North Dakotans with a wide range of resources and opportunities to enhance their overall well-being.
Through engaging and accessible environments, Gateway to Health is working towards the vision of all North Dakotans being informed about the local, state, and nationwide resources and opportunities available to them and having the knowledge and means to access these resources that influence their overall health and well-being where they live, work, play and age.
The Community Engagement Unit is collaborating with North Dakota State and Tribal Colleges and Universities to launch Ambassador Program. This initiative trains and empowers students to serve as public health leaders, addressing health disparities and positive behavior change through peer influence.
Student ambassadors will play a critical role in promoting public health knowledge, addressing community health concerns, and organizing impactful events on their campuses and within their communities.
