The CEG provides grant opportunities to local nonprofit organizations for community visual or performing arts and/or cultural programs/project/events. All programs/projects/events must take place within the City boundaries, except for local school competition performances while representing the City of Thousand Oaks. The application period is currently CLOSED.
When the application period opens, the application will be available on this page. School band competitions, open-space trail education events, ballets at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center, performances at other locations through the community, or similar visual or performing art or cultural program/project/event. The application period is CLOSED.
To apply, download the application from the Grant Document Section on this webpage. To request a Word document application, please send us an email. The signed grant application and all applicable required documents must be submitted before 5:00 PM on the deadline.
Applications must be submitted by email only to togrants@toaks. gov . A confirmation e-mail verifying receipt will be sent during business hours to all applicants.
If the Applicant DOES NOT receive a confirmation receipt, the Applicant should assume the City did not receive the application. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. CVUSD School Projects/ School Booster Club Projects, please see Special Note in the right-hand corner of this webpage.
Current CEG award limits: Minimum is $500 and Maximum is $9,000. This grant requires 100% matching funds. If the grant is for a team competition, it cannot be for more than $100 per team member.
The anticipated date applicants will be notified of the award decision is mid-May 2026. All 2026-27 CEG programs/projects/events must be held and completed between July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027. All grant-related expenditures, including matching funds, must take place within the grant agreement period.
After project/program/event completion (or after funds have been spent), grantees have 30 days to submit a Performance report. The City Council appointed the Community Funding Review Committee (CFRC) to evaluate all eligible applications and present their funding recommendation to the City Council , who provides the final approval.
