The Franklin P.
and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, Perdue Farms’ philanthropic partner, provided funding for the grants. This support advances the company's Fill the Food Gap initiative, a cornerstone of its Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors outreach efforts focused on building stronger communities and improving quality of life.
The grant programs range from school-based food access initiatives to summer meal programs and family support services. Grant recipients include the Maryland Food Bank, which received $69,000 to support its Mobile Market program that brings food directly to underserved communities across the Eastern Shore.
The Food Bank of Delaware received $35,000 to help sustain its Backpack Program, which provides children facing food insecurity with meals and snacks during weekends, holidays and school breaks when school meals are unavailable. 50K Souls received $10,000 to support the Salisbury-based ministry’s mobile food distribution efforts and help provide hot summer meals for children in need.
The Epoch Dream Center received $10,000 to help fund after-school transportation and family-style meals for students participating in the organization’s tutoring and mentoring programs. Together, these organizations help children and families gain easier access to food and resources that strengthen community well-being in Maryland and Delaware.
