Community Foundation for Brevard Invests over Half a Million in Local Nonprofits - Community Foundation for Brevard With the generous support of its donors and fundholders, the Community Foundation for Brevard directs $531,853 in funding to 75 local agencies through the 2025 Competitive Grants-Brevard cycle.
This annual program provides nonprofit organizations with vital funding for both programmatic and general operating support, empowering them to respond to key community challenges. Philanthropic individuals and families who contribute towards the cycle are helping to build a Brevard that is healthy, life-affirming, and rich in opportunity for all.
This year, the Foundation engaged 65 community volunteers, organized into ten review teams across seven funding categories, to carefully evaluate grant applications. Out of 99 applicants, 75 organizations were awarded, including eight that received full funding for their requests.
Final approval was provided by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, ensuring a rigorous, community-oriented process mindful of donor intent and collective needs. “The Competitive Grants-Brevard program has grown steadily over the past few years,” shared Donna Sewell, Director of Philanthropy and Programs . “We’re seeing more groups applying, more community members engaging in the process—it’s true collective impact in action.
