Community Health Grants is sponsored by Healthy Charlotte Alliance. Healthy Charlotte Alliance considers proposals that advance the charitable, scientific, educational, and healthcare needs of Mecklenburg County residents.

Community Health Grants - Healthy Charlotte Alliance The 2026 Grant Cycle Is Now Closed. Check back in December 2026 for the 2027 grant cycle. 2027 Grant Cycle Timeline The application period for 2027 Community Health Grant funding will open in December 2026, with all applications due by February 15, 2027.

Following application review and due diligence by Healthy Charlotte Alliance’s Grants Committee, semifinalists may be contacted to participate in a site visit and should make every effort to be available during the designated timeframe . After site visits are completed, a slate of finalists will be presented to a group of voting members for final grant selection.

Grant recipients will be notified in April and awards will be made in May at the Alliance’s 2027 annual meeting. Eligibility & Funding Priorities Healthy Charlotte Alliance will consider proposals that advance the charitable, scientific, educational, and healthcare needs of Mecklenburg County residents.

Organizations must address one or more of Mecklenburg County’s key health priorities: Chronic Disease Prevention Maternal and Child Health To be eligible for funding, applicants must: Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in good standing. Have been established and operating for at least five (5) years at the time of application. Serve residents of Mecklenburg County.

Request funding between $10,000 and $50,000 . Only applications that directly benefit Mecklenburg County residents will be considered. Grant Requirements & Rules Organizations that received a Healthy Charlotte Alliance grant in 2026 are not eligible to apply for funding in 2027.

Applications must include measurable outcomes and a clear plan for evaluating program success and community impact. Grant awards are provided as unrestricted funds and may be used to support the organization’s greatest area of need, as described in the application. If there is a substantial or material change in the intended use of grant funds, the recipient agrees to notify Healthy Charlotte Alliance immediately.

Healthy Charlotte Alliance reserves the right to request the return of grant funds if the approved purpose changes significantly. Grant recipients are required to submit a final impact report detailing the use of funds, outcomes achieved, and community impact no later than June 1, 2028.

To provide camp experiences, year-round health and wellness activities, preventive healthcare, and family support services that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for scholars and their families. To help distribute 5,000 essential care packages to families in need, supporting newborn health, safe infant care, and caregiver well-being during the critical postpartum period.

To provide evidence-based mental health treatment, including integrative therapies and financial assistance that expands access to care for individuals and teens in need. To expand and sustain professionally facilitated grief support groups for children, teens, and families coping with loss throughout the Charlotte community.

Pat's Place Child Advocacy Center To serve abused children in Mecklenburg County by supporting essential expenses at The Healing Center. To support Care Ring's innovative Two Generation Clinic model, as a way to improve postpartum health outcomes for mothers and babies by enabling them to be seen together, during one visit.

To assist 18 families whose children have stayed in the NICU with support through therapy or equipment to enhance development and improve the quality of life for their children. Funds will enable young mothers to access vital health, mental health, and support services, laying the foundation for stable and healthy futures. To combat the exploitation and trafficking of teen girls.

Funds will support intervention program, teaching at-risk girls to recognize dangers and red flags within relationships and to protect themselves from being victimized.

To support the LifeSet program for vulnerable teens, who are aging out of foster care and transitioning into independent living To support weekly Small Group Mentoring sessions for students, to build resilience, and mitigate mental health concerns, positively impacting social-emotional wellbeing, and school attendance.

Camino Community Development Corporation To serve low-income uninsured Latino families with affordable, bilingual, culturally competent, integrated care that includes, primary care, behavioral health, health and wellness, and food security. To support 20 foster parents with therapeutic services with a licensed clinician who understands the unique needs and stressors related to foster care.

Dilworth Center for Chemical Dependency To support the Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program for Adolescents, Young Adults and Adults, which includes treatment for family members of those impacted. To provide healthcare and medical services to uninsured, homeless women and children living in poverty. To provide Mental Health First Aid training and Veteran Support Specialist training for 20 veteran leaders.

To support Community Health Nursing at the AJC Free Clinic. Carolina Refugee Resettlement Agency To support the Refugee Health Promotion Project to help individuals and their families to overcome health access and insurance barriers and educate groups on mental health and social service resources. Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center To support deeply discounted hearing instruments to those in need on a sliding fee scale based on income.

They are designed to help educate, empower and supp Hospitality House of Charlotte Established over 31 years ago, Hospitality House provides lodging for families in medical crisis. Guests are charged $45 per night, which is a partial operational cost.

Our grant will fund the guest assistance program for those families who cannot afford Founded in 2009 by a Charlotte resident, this is a character building and running program for 4th - 8th grade boys. Over 1600 boys and 300 volunteer coaches participate annually.
