Community Impact Grants

Community Impact Grants is sponsored by Albertsons Companies Foundation (Vons Foundation). The Vons Foundation, part of the Albertsons Companies Foundation, funds nonprofit organizations that strengthen neighborhoods where Vons operates.

We are at our best when we are stewards of our communities. We’re committed to reducing food insecurity and lifting up the neighborhoods we serve. Albertsons Companies Foundation supports causes that impact our customers’ lives.

Our stores provide the opportunity to mobilize funding and create awareness in our neighborhoods through our associates’ passion, partnerships with our vendors and the generous contributions by our customers. Our priority is eradicating hunger in our neighborhoods.

Specifically, we actively seek out organizations that feed our neighbors **today**, help connect them to resources to feed themselves **tomorrow**, and end hunger **forever**. **About Nourishing Neighbors** **Albertsons Companies Foundation's Nourishing Neighbors program is dedicated to fighting food insecurity and ensuring that at-risk children, adults, seniors, and families have access to the food they need to succeed. The program supports various initiatives, including providing nutritious breakfasts for children, holiday dinners, and school pantries.

Since inception in 2014, Nourishing Neighbors raised and donated over $300 million, enabling more than 1 billion meals to be donated to communities, including those affected by disasters. The program also focuses on long-term solutions to hunger, such as connecting people to federal meal programs like SNAP and WIC. Through these efforts, we aim to create sustainable and lasting change in the fight against hunger.

** We work with existing and new partners that we proactively seek out and identify as collaborators to achieve our mission and goals. Grants made in a limited geography will be considered by the local Public Affairs Staff Organizations we fund must be either designated as a 501(c)3 charity or a public k-12 school and serve the community where we operate. Although we would love to help everyone, the Foundation generally does not fund: * Individuals or for-profit organizations * Political organizations or activities * Religious organizations for religious purposes * Capital or building campaigns * Meetings, conferences, or workshops * Sports teams or athletic competitions * Other foundations or granting organizations * Fundraising dinners, galas, and events.

(Note: we generally do not sponsor these events because the sponsorship is not fully deductible and because we prefer that our funds go directly to program services rather than offset event expenses.)

You can apply outside of our RFP process for limited funds.

To apply for a grant, you mustfill out an online application. The online system will triage the requests and send them to the appropriate geographic team for consideration. It will take approximately 12 weeks from the close of the application cycle for us to get back to you on the status of the grant.

**TIP: To Strengthen Your Application – Include an Employee Sponsor** On the online application, you will be asked if you have a sponsor and then offered the opportunity to provide their name. We will contact that employee to learn more about your work before the application is considered. Typically, an employee sponsor is a volunteer, board member, or someone who has been helped by your organization.

If you cannot identify an employee in your ranks, we recommend you speak to your local Store Manager to see if they would be willing to sponsor. Please note: All applications in California, Hawaii and the Reno-area in Nevada require an employee sponsor.
