Eligible organizations must demonstrate fiscal soundness and a proven track record, ensuring that funding directly benefits the community. Applications are encouraged to align with CJP's mission and vision.

Thanks to the generosity of the Center for Jewish of Greater Phoenix’s (CJP) donors, CJP awards grants to support the Jewish community locally, in Israel, and around the world.

CJP is committed to innovative programming, the institutional health of local Jewish nonprofit organizations, energizing and sustaining local Jewish life, Jews in need, participation in the local Jewish community, supporting Israel and overseas programs, and responding to emergencies. We welcome proposals from organizations serving the Greater Phoenix Jewish community.

To be eligible to apply for funding from the Center for Jewish Philanthropy:The organization must be a 501(c)(3) organization, a qualifying synagogue or school. Schools and synagogues are eligible for strategic initiative funding but are not eligible for general operating support. The program must directly serve the Greater Phoenix Jewish community.

Applicants must be current on requirements and reporting associated with prior CJP grants. The organization must be fiscally sound. Financial documents are required for all requests.

Funding for Israel and Overseas programs, including JFNA historic partners, is by invitation only. Local Jewish Organizations are Eligible to Apply for General Operating Support if: The organization has been in existence for a minimum of three years. The organization has a proven track record of implementing programs/services.

The organization operates under its own 501c3. The organization can measure the outcomes of its work. The organization has bylaws that clearly define the organization’s purpose and identifies the duties and responsibilities of the governing body.

The organization undertakes a periodic self-evaluation of its effectiveness and the impact of its services. The board meets regularly, and 100% of board members make a meaningful contribution to your organization.

CJP will not fund proposals for: capitalendowmentother fundraising campaignsscholarshipsequipment purchases that are not essential to a specific program or initiativedonor, staff, or volunteer recognition eventsindividualsbudget deficitsprojects in their entiretyorganizations that endorse or promote antisemitism (according to the IHRA definition), or endorse or participate in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

If your organization has received only a small grant in the past (not a grant during our annual grant cycle), you may not apply for general operating support. Schools or synagogues.
