Community Investments - Evergy Enhancing the vitality of our communities Apply for a Grant or Sponsorship with Evergy Evergy is committed to empowering a better future for the communities we serve. Through our Community Impact Program, we support nonprofit organizations working to improve environmental sustainability, community vitality and social equity.

Organizations that are interested in applying for a grant or sponsorship with Evergy should complete the Request for Funding form. These grants support 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) nonprofit agencies in Evergy’s service area. Funding is prioritized for projects that align with our strategic focus areas: Environmental Leadership: Initiatives that support clean energy, education, stewardship and sustainability.

Projects that demonstrate environmental leadership include – but are not limited to – pollinator gardens, river and waterway cleanup, tree planting, zero-waste events and park revitalization. Community Vitality: Initiatives that support workforce readiness, access to opportunities and basic needs.

Projects that demonstrate community vitality include – but are not limited to – youth leadership programs, equitable food access and affordable housing advocacy. Before applying, ensure your project aligns with Evergy’s focus areas: environmental leadership and community vitality. You may be asked to complete an eligibility quiz as part of the application process.

Gather the following details: project description and goals, budget and funding needs, community impact details, and contact information for your organization. Download helpful application tips and view a sample of the application before you get started. Applications must be submitted through Evergy’s online portal.

Awarded annually, this grant program provides up to $10,000 for basic needs initiatives. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) nonprofits. Moving communities forward is a team effort.

Each year, we volunteer and pledge support each year to over 500 local non-profit organizations across our service area to spread good energy and empower a better future.

A few examples of the groups we work with include: Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Kansas Harvesters Community Food Bank Evergy also offers volunteer assistance through our Green Team for on-site projects and energy assistance programs for bill assistance and energy-saving resources.
