com/supervisorjosemedina/ "(opens in a new window)") ## Community Improvement Designations ## About Community Improvement Designations (CID) ### **Community Improvement Designation (CID) Grant Update – FY 2026/2027** * 🗓 **Event/Activity Period:** All funded events or activities must take place **between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027** * 📥 **Application Opens:** July 1, 2026 – we encourage eligible organizations to apply **early** in the new fiscal year ### ✨ What’s New for FY 2026/2027 * 💵 **Maximum Award:** Up to **$2,500** per applicant The **Community Improvement Designation (CID) Grant Program** helps enhance the quality of life in Riverside County by supporting local nonprofits, neighborhood groups, and community partners that provide: * 💼 Economic development programs ## 💡 CID Grants May Support: * 🎉 **Community events and cultural celebrations** * 🎵 **Arts, music, and heritage projects** * 👩‍👧‍👦 **Youth and senior services** * 🚓 **Public safety and emergency preparedness** * 🌳 **Beautification or environmental clean-up projects** * ❤️ **Health and wellness initiatives** 🏘 Organizations must operate within or serve communities in Riverside County, and funding must directly benefit the public.

This is achieved through various means such as educational and recreational projects, arts and cultural programs, environmental awareness initiatives, economic development endeavors, and other projects that contribute to the community's welfare and elevate the quality of life in the region.

Any public or private community group or non-profit organization operating within or serving the County of Riverside is eligible to seek CID funding.

## Before You Apply: Community Improvement Designation (CID) Grant Guidelines ### **Before You Apply: Community Improvement Designation (CID) Grant Guidelines – FY 2026/2027** Before submitting your application, please review the following guidelines to ensure your project aligns with District 1’s goals and County requirements.

#### 📌 **Key Guidelines:** * **Public Record Notice:** All CID applications are public records and may be subject to disclosure under the California Public Records Act. * **Individual Review:** Each application is evaluated on its own merit. Submission does not guarantee approval or funding.

* **District 1 Focus:** Priority is given to projects that benefit residents within Riverside County’s First Supervisorial District. * **Processing Timeline:** Please allow **up to 8 weeks** for review and processing. Funds are not disbursed immediately.

* **One-Time Funding:** Approval of a CID grant does not guarantee funding in future years or cycles. * **Use of Funds:** Funds must be used as described in the approved application. Documentation may be requested to verify use.

#### ⚠️ **Restrictions & Requirements:** * **Election-Year Rule:** No CID grants will be awarded or publicly announced within **60 days of an election** in which the Supervisor appears on the ballot. * **Final Report Required:** All recipients must submit a final report and itemized accounting **within 60 days** of expending the funds.

* **Photo Submission:** Grant recipients are required to submit **high-resolution photos** showing how the funds were used. These may be used in County or District 1 communications. * **Unused Funds:** Any unused or undocumented funds must be returned to the County.
