Community Mental Health Equity Project (CMHEP) Public Posting January 6, 2021 through January 13, 2021 Assembly Bill (AB) 74 (Chapter 23, Statutes of 2019) authorized funding of $3M to provide training and technical assistance to county behavioral health departments to increase their expertise in cultural humility, health equity, stakeholder engagement, language access, and trauma-informed care and to assist them in the development of population-specific and community-driven approaches to reducing disparities.
The funding created a collaborative relationship between the California Department of Public Health’s Office of Health Equity (CDPH-OHE) and DHCS’ Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Division (DHCS-MCBHD). The collaboration is known as the Community Mental Health Equity Project (CMHEP) and addresses strategies and interventions aimed at reducing disparities in access to health and behavioral health care.
To solicit successful applicants, DHCS has developed a Request-for-Application (RFA) document, along with a Scope of Work, and seeks public comments on those documents from 1/6/2021 through 1/13/2021. Please select the link to review both documents at https://www. dhcs.
