Community Possible Thriving Communities Grant

Community Possible Thriving Communities Grant is sponsored by Norfolk Southern. This grant supports organizations working to build a strong foundation for long-term prosperity in communities, including basic life necessities, well-being support, preservation of local culture, and enhancing community spaces.

Grant Guidelines & Eligibility Requirements | Norfolk Southern THRIVING COMMUNITIES AND SAFETY-FIRST GRANT GUIDELINES & ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Norfolk Southern is committed to helping the communities where we operate thrive.

To be eligible to apply for a Thriving Communities or a Safety-First grant through our open application process, organizations must meet the criteria outlined in our program guidelines, located at the bottom of this page. Note, guidelines for Community Disaster Relief grants differ. Please refer to the PDF document below for this program.

Review each grant program’s guidelines and eligibility requirements listed in our Grant Program documents at the bottom of this page. com/en/commitments/in-your-community/corporate-giving/our-focus-areas\" title=\"NS Focus Areas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Norfolk Southern’s focus areas</a> as outlined in each grant’s program guidelines document</li>\r\n<li>Commitment to inclusion and community engagement<br>\r\n</li>\r\n<li>Organization operates in Norfolk Southern’s 22-state network</li>\r\n<li>Project or program is located within 30 minutes of NS main line<br>\r\n</li>\r\n<li>Qualify as a tax-exempt nonprofit as either a public 501(c)(3) or government entity as outlined in each grant’s program guidelines document.

The application period typically remains open for 3-6 weeks but will vary depending on ongoing recovery efforts and the nature of the disaster</li>\r\n<li>For In-Kind Donation grants, applications are open on an ongoing basis.
