Community Safety Development Fund is sponsored by Office for Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner for Essex (OPFCC). This fund supports voluntary and community organizations that help prevent and tackle crime and anti-social behavior in Essex. This aligns with the EALC's mission to improve the quality of life for residents by supporting initiatives that contribute to safer communities.

Community Grants - Essex PFCC Community Safety Development Fund The Essex Police, Fire, and Crime Commissioner's Community Safety Development Fund (CSDF) is aimed at supporting local communities in their efforts to prevent crime and tackle anti-social behaviour.

We are committed to working with our local voluntary and community safety sector to deliver effective approaches to preventing and tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in support of the Police and Crime Plan 2024/28 . To help support the vital work they do for local communities, we are pleased to announce the 2025/26 Community Safety Development Fund (CSDF) is open for applications from Thursday 3 rd July 2025.

Groups that meet the criteria can apply for up to £20,000 in funding, for projects taking place in Southend, Essex or Thurrock. Applications for this funding round must be submitted via Microsoft Forms, accessible through the link provided below. hanrahan2@essex. police. uk Decisions will be made using available evidence that demonstrates the initiative’s likely impact on the PFCC’s priorities.

The PFCC uses a panel of independent, local representatives to ensure proposed activity reflects local priorities, links-in with existing commissioned or grant-funded activity, and provides the PFCC with value for money. The PFCC aims to ensure a fair and equitable distribution of funding across Essex including the unitary authorities of Southend and Thurrock, and between the priorities within the Police and Crime Plan.

The allocation for the 2025/26 Community Safety Development Fund is around £300,000. Funding will be released upon receipt of a signed Grant Agreement and a corresponding invoice, in accordance with the payment schedule outlined in the Agreement. Monitoring and evaluation Those who are awarded grants are asked to provide formal reports at the conclusion of the project, using the standard report template.
