These funds are allocated to designated Community Action Agencies to support services for low-income families, alleviating the causes and conditions of poverty in under-resourced communities to attain skills and knowledge to achieve self-sufficiency. Services address a range of issues based on community needs — education, emergencies, employment, food/nutrition, housing, transportation – for all age ranges.
Nevada Community Action Agencies In Nevada, 12 agencies have been designated to receive CSBG funds. If you are an individual or household in need, contact your local Community Action Agency for programs that are available to you.
The CSBG State Plan serves as a state’s official application for federal funding, outlining how the state lead agency (DHS in Nevada) will administer, distribute, and monitor Community Services Block Grant resources.
