This federal block grant helps fund a network of local Community Action Agencies to create, coordinate, and deliver programs and services to low-income Missourians across the state.
These funds help people with finding and keeping meaningful jobs, completing their education, making better use of their income, finding and keeping a place to live, getting emergency help, and improving nutrition.
Services available through local Community Action Agencies include education workshops (money management, parenting, nutrition, interviewing), mentoring and tutoring, adult and child literacy, employment and training activities, health services, and help with emergency food, rentals/housing, or utilities, and case management.
