Alternative Fuels Data Center: Community Waste-to-Biofuel Development Grants Community Waste-to-Biofuel Development Grants The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) provides grants of up to $10 million for the development of strategies for communities to manage and recover energy sources from waste streams for transportation end-uses.
Eligible projects include feasibility studies, design work, and experimental validation for renewable natural gas, hydrogen, or other waste-derived fuel. Applicants are encouraged to include currently available vehicles in their plans. Eligible prime applicants include non-profit organizations; transit authorities; and state, local, and tribal governments.
