Find Your Field Service Representative Educational Leadership Foundation (ELFNJ) Manual of Positions and Policies on Education Corporate Opportunities & Ads Partner EdVantage Directory Notice of Grant Opportunity: Expanding Access to Computer Science High School Courses The New Jersey Department of Education recently announced the release of the “ Expanding Access to Computer Science High School Courses Notice of Grant Opportunity.
” This limited competitive grant provides funding directly to local educational agencies to develop and implement one or more new high-quality computer science education course(s) aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Computer Science. The new courses developed must be available for student enrollment in the 2026-2027 academic year.
LEAs that offer a high school program of study, not related to the career technical education information technology career cluster are eligible to apply for this program. The high school may also offer a CTE program in the technology career cluster; however, the new course may not be part of the CTE program.
Eligible applicants may request funding for only one of the following options: LEAs with one or more high schools that currently teach a computer science course may apply for up to $41,500 to develop and implement one or more new advanced computer science courses that meet one of the following criteria: The course is a College Board approved Advanced Placement computer science A course.
The course is a College Board approved Advanced Placement computer science principles course. The course is a course in cybersecurity or artificial intelligence. LEAs with one or more high schools that do not currently teach a computer science course may apply for up to $32,000 to develop and implement one or more new introductory computer science courses.
NGO Application Deadline Dates The Expanding Access to Computer Science High School Courses notice of grant opportunity application became available to LEAs through the electronic web-enabled grant system available via NJDOE’s Homeroom on Dec. 13, 2024. LEAs are required to submit applications by Jan.
15, 2025. A webinar to support LEAs with the application process will be held by NJDOE staff on Jan. 7, 2025, from 2 p.
m. to 3 p. m.
