Grants | Southern Connecticut State University A grant is a form of financial aid that is considered “free money” and therefore does not need to be repaid. Students must demonstrate financial need to be considered for the following grants. For all students, we award on the basis of full-time enrollment.
Grants may be reduced or canceled for part-time enrollment. Grants for Undergraduate Students Federal Pell Grants (PELL) are based on the information a student provides on their FAFSA. Matriculated undergraduates may qualify for Pell Grants ranging from $0 to $7,395 for both the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 federal aid years.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is a grant program available to matriculated undergraduate students who demonstrate extreme financial need, with priority to full time Pell recipients with a negative or zero student aid index (SAI). The SEOG grants at Southern range from $200 to $1000 per academic year. Funds are limited and depend on Southern's yearly allocations.
