Management Information * Acreage Crop Reporting Streamlining Initiative (ACRSI) # Transition Incentives Program The Transition Incentives Program (TIP) assists with the transition of expiring Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) land from an owner or operator to a beginning or veteran farmer or rancher to return the land to production for sustainable grazing or crop production.

Owners or operators who participate in TIP may receive up to two additional annual rental payments after their CRP contract expires provided the beginning or veteran farmer or rancher is not a family member. Due to the high volume of applications received, TIP enrollment closed before the originally announced Aug. 14, 2026, deadline.

No additional enrollments will be accepted for FY 2026. TIP incentivizes the voluntary transition of land enrolled in an expiring CRP contract from its current landowner or operator to a beginning or veteran farmer or rancher to return the land to production for sustainable grazing or crop production in a way that preserves established conservation practices.

Landowners or operators who qualify for TIP may be eligible to receive additional annual rental payments for up to two additional years after the CRP contract expires. ## Participant Information * Landowners and operators with land enrolled in a CRP contract with two or less years remaining in the 10- or 15-year contract period.

* CRP acreage must be transitioned (contract to sell or lease it for at least five years) to eligible beginning or veteran farmers and ranchers before the contract expires. ### Is TIP land eligible for any FSA conservation programs?

New owners and operators may also be eligible to enroll in theConservation Stewardship ProgramorEnvironmental Quality Incentives Program, both initiatives of the USDANatural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). For further information about the program, including CRP contract expiration rules, rental payment information, maintenance criteria, and land requirements, visit yourlocal FSA office.

Here you'll find definitions related to qualifying for TIP. * Beginning farmer or rancher: a person or entity who has not been a farm or ranch operator for more than 10 years.

* Veteran farmer or rancher means a person, or for entities has at least 50 percent interest in that entity, who served in the Armed Forces and who has obtained status as a veteran during the most recent 10-year period, or operated a farm or ranch for no more than 10 years.

* Family member: an individual to whom a person is related as spouse, lineal ancestor, lineal descendant, or sibling including a: Great Grandparent; Grandparent; Parent; Child, including a legally adopted child; Grandchild; Great Grandchild; Sibling of a family member in the farming operation; and Spouse of a person listed above.
