html Briefly Describe the Purpose of the Program To provide properly specified bid and inspected paratransit vehicles to private non-profit and certified public agencies for use in transporting seniors and people with disabilities. Year Program Established: Eligibility Requirements or Restrictions Interested parties must participate in the regional Human Services Transportation Planning (HSTP) meetings.
Accessible vehicles are available to public transit providers for general public transportation, and to non-profit organizations for the transportation of seniors and/or individuals with disabilities. The basic qualifications (above), and a well-run transportation program.
Application Deadline: TBD The CVP Program uses Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 funding for awards to non-profit organizations and FTA Sections 5311 and 5339 for awards to public transportation providers. Public transportation providers are exempt from the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) and notice of those CVP applications will be posted in the BlackCat portal.
Non-profit agencies are still covered by GATA and a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) outlining the application process and due date will be posted in the GATA portal (see above website link) as funding become available. Funding Cap Per Application or Fiscal Year Program Funding: N/A To be determined annually The CVP program awards paratransit vehicles, not funding.
The vehicles awarded to non-profit organizations must be used to provide transportation to seniors and people with disabilities; vehicles awarded to Section 5311 and Section 5307 recipients must be used to provide transportation to the general public.
