Core Support (General Operating Support) | Valley Community Foundation Core Support (General Operating Support) General Operating Support provides flexible funding for nonprofits serving the Valley region. Core Support (General Operating Support) Core Support (General Operating Support) Available only to nonprofits based in and serving the Valley region.

General Operating Support is defined as a grant made to further the general mission and work of an organization, rather than for a specific purpose or project. General Operating Support gives nonprofits flexibility to direct their spending where it is needed most and allows greater focus on achieving an organization’s mission. One-year and multi-year grants Grants are available for terms one, two, or three years.

Applicants must serve people within the Community Foundation twenty-town region and meet The Foundations' minimum eligibility requirements . Organizations receiving a current Responsive grant that ends later than Dec. 31, 2026 may not apply.

To be eligible for Core Support, organizations must also meet the following criteria: A minimum of three years continuous active programming under a 501c3 designation or a fiscal sponsor. An operating budget of $250,000 or more. Applicants with a fiscal sponsor must have an independent local advisory board or board of directors.

Applicants who have received a grant from either The Community Foundation or the Valley Community Foundation in the previous four years must be up to date with all reporting requirements. Applicants have not also applied for a Small Grant from The Community Foundation (Organizations can apply for either a Small Grant or a Multi-Year Grant, Guiding Principles for Nonprofits Grants and Nonprofit Support Manager
