We invite sponsorship in the following areas: Education Outreach Programming Through our K–12 education program—and outreach programs for underserved schools in the School District of Philadelphia—the Barnes engages more than 10,000 students with the arts annually.

Taught in the classroom and on-site in the collection galleries, lessons promote interdisciplinary and cross-cultural connections to reinforce core curriculum. The Barnes Foundation smART Fund for Education, established by GSK, is an endowment that provides generous annual support for K–8 education outreach programs in the School District of Philadelphia.

Established in 2012, our exhibition program is continuing to grow and evolve to provide a new lens for experiencing the Barnes collection. Our innovative public programs—including live music, dance performances, films, and lectures—explore the thought-provoking themes in our collection and exhibitions. Caring for our one-of-a-kind art collections is a crucial part of our mission.

Our Conservation Department is responsible for an incredibly diverse range of objects—paintings, frames, works on paper, ceramics, metalwork, sculptures, furniture, textiles, jewelry, and even buildings. Conservation encompasses all aspects of collection care, including treatment, examination, documentation, and research.

In addition, conservators are tasked with environmental monitoring, maintaining safe display environments, and providing regular collection housekeeping. By investing in original research relating to the collection, the Barnes is continuing to grow its resources for scholars in Philadelphia and around the world. Our most recent book was The Barnes Then and Now: Dialogues on Education, Installation, and Social Justice.

Located in the heart of Philadelphia, our striking modern building—designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects | Partners—is the perfect setting for formal receptions, dinners, and cocktail parties. Our event spaces are equipped to handle audio-visual needs for large presentations and panel discussions, as well as smaller business and group meetings.

The Barnes Foundation is approved to receive contributions from corporations through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Eligible businesses that support our educational programs can apply to receive tax credits equal to 75% of their contribution (up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year).
