Investing in Michigan Nonprofit Groups, Communities and Events Beyond the Consumers Energy Foundation, we support Michigan nonprofits and communities through volunteerism, community event sponsorships, and charitable giving. A key focus of this work is our longstanding partnership with United Way, which helps get resources to communities that need them the most.
Plus, over the last 15 years, we have given more than $75 million to Michigan nonprofits to help customers pay their energy bills. Grants & Resources to Empower Employee Volunteerism Request Support for Your Community Event The Consumers Energy United Way campaign supports high-quality after-school programs for children. Consumers Energy employees dropping off food at the Great Samaritan Food Bank.
Our United Way donations support financial stability programs including credit counseling and money management programs. Money raised in our corporate United Way campaign funds mentor programs to help kids stay in school and succeed. When Consumers Energy upgrades equipment or office furniture, useable items are donated to eligible nonprofits.
This helps support schools and community organizations and reduce operation costs. Donations are available to eligible nonprofits located within our service territory. Pickup is generally required for donations from our Investment Recovery Center in Jackson, Michigan.
The Center manages surplus items and helps redirect reusable equipment for community benefit. Eligible nonprofits must fill out the in-kind donation request form below to be considered. Sending in a form does not guarantee availability or approval of a donation.
