Counties grants | Support Evangelistic Initiatives Today — Counties Evangelism Counties Evangelistic Grants Counties is able to provide seed funding for new evangelistic initiatives in the UK. Grants will usually be £1,000 - £2,000, and are made on the understanding that this will only be used for the purpose for which it is given. Projects should be Evangelistic and take place in the UK .
We are particularly interested in new pioneer projects . Applicants are encouraged to show evidence of networking with other organisations/churches. Applications to cover ongoing salaries are not likely to be successful .
Most grants will be one-off and on-going funding is not generally considered. Organisations which have large reserves , and single church-based or denominational projects will not usually be supported. Applications should be submitted well in advance of projects starting, as retrospective grants are unlikely to be supported.
Potential applicants should contact the Counties office for further information and to request an application form. You are encouraged to discuss your enquiry with us before completing the form.
Information you are likely to need includes: Information about your organisation and the project you would like to apply for; Organisation finance such as company/charity accounts or income/expenditure information; Project budget, and any other funding anticipated; Any applications are initially considered by the Counties Operations Manager, and if suitable by a Counties sub group.
The Evangelization Society (TES) served the UK from 1864 as a major evangelistic organisation seeking to see people brought into the Kingdom of God. Between 1870-2004 over 1400 people served as evangelists, including several grants to William Booth in 1867 & 1868 seeking to establish The Salvation Army. From 2004-2019, TES was able to provide grants of £378,000 to evangelistic projects.
106 organisations were supported including itinerant evangelists, Christian ministries, youth work, prison ministries, children's ministries, media outreach, and city missions. In 2013, with funds and personnel reduced, Counties was asked to assist by taking over the administration of TES. Then in 2020 Counties fully took over the charity The Evangelization Society (TES).
