CREA-MEDIA-2026-FILMSALES - EU Funding Call for proposals to bolster the trans-national distribution of recent non-national European cinema. This call is exclusively open to European Sales Agents—companies acting as intermediaries for producers—that are established in and majority-owned by nationals of MEDIA-participating countries.
To be eligible, applicants must hold international sales agreements for specific films covering at least 10 participating countries. The program offers a total budget of EUR 5. 5 million, with individual projects eligible for up to EUR 750,000 over a period of 12 to 24 months.
The funding operates in two phases: first, a "potential fund" is generated based on the company's performance in the European market; second, these funds must be reinvested into minimum guarantees for international sales rights or the promotion and marketing of eligible films.
To qualify, films must be recent works of fiction, animation, or documentaries (produced in 2022 or later) that meet strict criteria regarding European production involvement and financing. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to strengthen the competitive position of European films by fostering deeper links between the production and distribution sectors.
