Crisis Response Grant Program | Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs Crime Prevention and Public Safety Crisis Response Grant Program Crisis Response Grant Program The Crisis Response Grant Program funds local law enforcement agencies and local units of government to maintain or expand crisis response teams in which social workers or mental health providers are sent as first responders when calls for service indicate that an individual is having a mental health crisis.
This grant program currently supports 10 agencies. Eight utilizing a Co-Responder model and two operating an Alternative Response Team (ART) model. Agencies that received funding Coon Rapids Police Department Hopkins Police Department Roseville Police Department St.
Cloud Police Department Stearns County Sheriff's Department Local units of government and Tribal Governments are eligible to apply, including county sheriff’s offices, police departments, and tribal public safety agencies. A group of agencies may collaborate on a joint application with one unit of government serving as the fiscal agency. The 2026 - 2028 Crisis Response RFP is closed, and applications are in review.
