LA DHS Safety-Net Health Innovation Awards | Clinical & Translational Science Institute Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Safety-Net Health Innovation Awards UCLA CTSI and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (LAC DHS) award the Safety-Net Health Innovation Awards (formerly Implementation Science Awards) to project teams to develop and pilot interventions to enhance quality, efficiency and patient-centeredness of care in the LA County health care system.
Initiated in 2017, the Safety-Net Health Innovation Awards provide each team with up to $150,000 for projects up to two years. Projects are expected to provide preliminary data for extramural funding to implement and formally evaluate the interventions within LAC DHS.
The next round of applications will be accepted in Spring 2024 Bridgette Blebu, PhD, MPH Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Safety-Net Health Innovation Awardee Tara Russell, MD, PhD, MPH Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Safety-Net Health Innovation Awardee " Improving Postpartum Care Transitions for Clients with Mental Health Conditions" Institution: Lundquist Institute - Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology " Improving Care and Addressing Health Literacy in Colorectal Cancer Diagnosis and Surveillance" Institution: Olive View-UCLA Medical Center – Department of Surgery Between 2015 and 2019, we supported 18 projects* that had an impact on care or outcomes for 82,000 LAC DHS patients and 270 providers and LAUSD students.
