Custom efficiency grants | Otter Tail Power Company Submit your own energy-savings proposal and receive funds. Create Your Own Efficiency Grant You know your business best—we’ll help along the way Every business has its own challenges and efficiency opportunities, which is why we're looking to you to identify the best ways to make improvements in your business operation.
Submit a proposal for improving your energy efficiency and we may provide a custom grant to help get your project done! Example projects could include: Upgrading your compressed-air system. Adding or replacing chiller equipment.
Adding large adjustable-speed drives (over 500 horsepower). Investing in process improvements. Improving your large motors (over 500 horsepower).
Improving your refrigeration equipment. Installing efficient electric cooking equipment. Making building envelope improvements.
An Energy Management Representative will help you create a custom grant plan. For preapproval you'll need: A custom energy-savings proposal. A timeline for measures to be completed within six months of approval.
Measurement and verification of actual energy savings (for certain projects). Grant amounts are calculated based on kilowatt-hours of energy saved, kilowatts of demand reduced, and project costs. Grant amounts won't exceed 75% of project costs or 90% of project incremental costs.
Other caps may also apply. Additionally, some proposals may be handled through existing rebate programs rather than grants. An Energy Management Representative will help you identify these programs.
