Lunch at the Library Summer 2027 is sponsored by CA State Library. Funds and support are available for all California public libraries that help to provide USDA summer meals for children and youth. The Lunch at the Library program helps California public libraries to establish library locations as U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) summer meal sites and take pop-up libraries to other USDA community meal sites while providing learning and enrichment opportunities. Applications are non-competitive. All eligible libraries participating in Lunch at the Library and submitting approved applications will receive funds. These funds can support the following Lunch at the Library activities: Library Meal Sites: Establish and serve USDA summer meals at library site(s) and provide learning and enrichment programming at those meal sites. Lunch at the Library meal sites should include programming. Programs can include — but are not limited to — farm to summer, literacy, health and wellness, nutrition education, and arts and culture-based activities, as well as books provided to help families build home libraries. Pop-Up Libraries at Community Meal Sites: Take pop-up libraries — including programming, resources, and books — to other community-based USDA summer meal sites, such as local parks and schools.

2025 – 2026 LSTA Community Impact Grants is sponsored by CA State Library. The California State Library’s LSTA Community Impact grants opportunity helps California’s libraries respond effectively to local needs and align services with local community aspirations; support experimentation and research and development in California’s libraries; and provide training and support in grant writing and grant management for the California library community. We invite libraries and other eligible organizations to apply for funding to support local and collaborative projects that address community needs and align with community aspirations. Projects should be guided by the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Projects should align with goal one of the State Library’s current LSTA Five Year Plan. We are especially interested in projects from library jurisdictions and branches of library jurisdictions that have not received LSTA funding in the last five years, and collaborative projects that represent a variety of regions, library sizes, and populations. However, we welcome applications from all California library jurisdictions, library consortia, and library-focused on-profit organizations, and on any topic and serving any group. Agencies applying for a local competitive grant and requesting $75,000 or above, and agencies applying for a collaborative competitive grant must plan to work with a project partner (in addition to the collaborative applicant group) and must have at least one project partner in place before an application is submitted. Types of Grant Opportunities Two types of grant opportunities are available: Local Competitive Grants support projects that focus on one library jurisdiction and can include projects focusing on one branch in one library jurisdiction. Collaborative Competitive Grants support projects that are implemented by three or more library jurisdictions. Community Rewards Giving Program is a grant from the Nusenda Foundation that strengthens communities across New Mexico by supporting nonprofits and public schools working to improve people's lives. The program is the Foundation's primary giving vehicle and awards grants of $2,500 to $15,000. Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofits and public schools serving New Mexico communities. Applications for the most recent cycle closed March 31, 2026.
