David M. Brooks Music Fund - NH Charitable Foundation The David M. Brooks Music Fund supports music education in New Hampshire’s public schools.
Brooks, of Bedford, was a U.S. Army veteran who had worked in the printing industry — and who loved music. He left a bequest in his will to create the fund in perpetuity for the teaching of light classical music and voice in New Hampshire primary and secondary schools. Public schools/school administrative units in New Hampshire serving grades K-12.
Funding for New Hampshire public schools to support musical instruction, equipment, programs, field trips, concerts and performances (including music licensing, professional assistance and show rights) that benefit music departments and music/voice programs. Public charter schools and nonprofit organizations are not eligible for funding.
Preference will be given to activities that reflect Mr. Brooks’ passion for light classical music examples of which include the waltzes of Johann Strauss, the works of Gilbert and Sullivan, the symphony and operettas. This fund awards grants up to $7,500.
