Empowering Davis County Small Businesses The Davis Loan Fund for Economic Development provides strategic financing to viable, non-traditional businesses that may not yet qualify for conventional bank loans. Managed by Davis County on behalf of the Davis County Council of Governments (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 1984), our mission is to stimulate job creation and strengthen the local economy.
Your Path to Bankability We don’t just provide capital; we provide a bridge. Our fund is specifically designed to help your business transition to traditional financing. Borrowers work closely with our Fund Manager to build "bankability" and prepare for future partnerships with commercial lenders.
Working Capital & Inventory: Fuel your daily operations. Equipment: Purchase necessary furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE). Expansion: Funding for construction or gap financing.
Eligibility & Application - Coming Soon If your business is located in Davis County, we want to help you grow. Our streamlined, two-step application process ensures you are qualified before moving to the final review. Please review the “Davis Fund Guidelines” for more information on eligibility.
Step 1: Complete the initial inquiry form below. If you have questions email aleonardi@daviscountyutah. gov .
Once submitted, we will review and contact you. Step 2: If qualified from step 1, you will proceed to the full application and receive more information from the Fund Manager. The full application requires a $100 application fee that allows the fund to do a credit check.
Final Approval: Completed applications are presented for approval at our monthly Board of Directors meeting, composed of Davis County mayors and commissioners. There are several organizations that Davis County works closely with to incentive and coordinate economic development opportunities. Below is a summary of these groups and links to the resources they offer.
Northern Utah Economic Alliance The Northern Utah Economic Alliance (NUEA) is a joint venture of Davis and Weber counties, the two most-populated counties in Northern Utah.
Their website contains a lot of information about the two counties including why it is so great to do business and live in Northern Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah) EDCUtah is a statewide economic development organization (EDO) specializing in corporate recruitment, economic research, site selector marketing, and community development.
A partner of the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity for corporate recruitment, EDCUtah is supported by state government, local governments, and organizations from the private sector. Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) GOEO supports Utah entrepreneurs and businesses buy working to retain and recruit companies and bring more high-paying jobs to Utah.
In addition, they work with industries, Utah regions, communities, and nonprofits to implement strategic economic development plans and reinforce Utah’s already diverse, The Business Resource Center at Davis Technical College provides quality educational, consulting and mentoring services for entrepreneurs in Davis and WTC Utah was founded in 2006 to elevate Utah’s global status and international engagement.
Their goal is to help Utah companies increase revenue and create jobs by expanding international sales, attracting foreign investment, and facilitating international Each Davis County city has a Redevelopment Agency (RDA) whose primary goal is to encourage development by providing incentives to develop new or expanding development projects.
Each RDA works in close conjunction with the County to find Community Reinvestment Areas (CRA) that would not otherwise occur without assistance from a reinvestment of property taxes collectible in the CRA needed to install infrastructure, remove blight, and other obstacles on land with unusually high land costs.
